The Pilot Program:
In July and August 2011, LeadNow partnered with Fiver Children's Foundation (www.fiver.org) to kick of its first pilot program with Fiver's Summer in the City participants. Teens explored social advocacy and key social issues affecting their lives. Over the course of six weeks, Fiver teens demonstrated the power of raising awareness by expressing their voices through blog posts. Check out what they have to say on The Drawing Board!
In Fall 2011, we partnered with Citizen Schools (www.citizenschools.org) to pilot the after-school version of the LeadNow program in two New York City schools! Citizen Schools partners with middle schools to expand the learning day for children in low-income communities across the country. Check out their final projects here.
